10 DAYS FOR 75 YEARS

Day 1: Favorite Quote about Lois Lane

“I mean, she’s different from Clark and Superman, that’s for sure. She’s bold, she’s brassy, and she really has no sense of boundaries. She’ll eat off your plate without asking (or noticing). She’ll storm into the men’s room if the line to the women’s room is too long. Her dad was a general, and she doesn’t completely understand that she’s not one, too. One of the reasons Superman is instantly attracted to her is because she constantly surprises him, and he’s hard to surprise.” — Mark Waid

dailyplanets:

Mairzee Almas: This is an ad lib, when she says, “Watch me!”

Brian Peterson: Oh, is it?

Mairzee Almas: Yeah, it is, yeah.

Brian Peterson: It’s good!

Mairzee Almas: I did a couple of versions, I did one without it as well. And she’s, “Oh, please, can I just do this, watch me!” Absolutely! It’s fantastic.

14 DAYS OF SUPERMAN/CLARK AND LOIS LANE
Day 10 -
An underappreciated moment that you love: I just love how Smallville paralleled Lois and Clark since day one. It’s amazing how they are so different yet so alike. Deep down all Lois and Clark wanted was someone they could call their home. And in the end they found their home… their soulmate.

“My Erica statement is a short little story about why I like her so much.
When we were in prep for ‘Infamous’ Darren Swimmer (who was producing the episode) and I got a call that said Erica has a thought on the script.
‘She wants to lose the kiss with Clark right before he goes back in time.’
This news was met with a confused chuckle from me. ‘Uh Clark and Lois have to kiss. It’s such a huge, promotable moment.’ Plus Erica wasn’t in the pitch when I outlined it to the studio and network and they LOVED it.
The set up to the scene I wrote was that Clark tells Lois he’s going back to before the world knew he was the Blur and Lois realizes, ‘that means I’m going to forget who you really are.’ And she’s bummed. And she mulls on that a beat and then looks at Clark and says ‘well I may not remember you, but something tells me you’ll sure as hell remember this’ and she plants one on Clark. Sexy Genius, I know.
But whatever, TV’s collaborative. So we called Erica back to hear her thoughts at least. So Erica starts talking about the scene. She loves it. She just wants to lose the kiss with Clark. I’m on the other end thinking ‘you’ve gotta be kidding me.’ I’m about to pull my hair out when Erica launches into one of the most eloquently stated, passionate thoughts I’d ever heard about Clark and Lois. To summarize,
‘Lois is nothing without her self-certainty. She has nothing to prove to Clark and she’s not the type of girl to throw herself at a guy out of desperation. If it’s meant to be, it will be.’
As Erica talks, I jot down on the back of my script to Darren ‘OMG she’s so right.’ And there went the kiss.
Erica reminded me that I don’t love Lois because she loves Clark. I love Lois because of her unwavering confidence. And it’s Erica’s fearlessness as an actor that makes her such an amazing Lois Lane.”
